Men's Basketball Ranked No. 21 in Latest D3Hoops.com Top 25 Poll

New Haven, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team remains in the D3Hoops.com Top-25 Poll, taking the 21st ranking heading into this week's action, as announced Monday evening. The D3hoops.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors, and media members from across the country, and is published weekly.

The Falcons, who dropped three spots from last week's rankings, enter this week's games with an overall record of 12-2 and a league mark of 1-0. Albertus saw its 11-game win streak come to an end last Tuesday on the road against then No. 5 Middlebury, 84-76. Albertus concluded the week with a thrilling 74-71 win over Colby-Sawyer College in its Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons have been ranked or received votes in the Top-25 multiple times since 2010. Other rankings included #16 in 2012 and #12 in 2014. The Falcons additionally received Top-25 recognition in each the 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2017 seasons. Albertus was also ranked #5 in the Nation by Sporting News Magazine in 2014.

To date, the Falcons rank in the Top 10 in Division III in five statistical categories – offensive rebounds per game (3rd – 16.79), steals per game (5th – 12.0), turnovers forced (8th – 20.64), three-point field goal defense (9th – 28.1%), and scoring offense (10th - 90.0).  

The Falcons have won seven Great Northeast Athletics Conference (GNAC) Championships and made seven NCAA Tournament appearances in the last 10 years. Albertus has won five NCAA tournament games and advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2014.

The men's basketball team continues GNAC play with a road clash against Regis (Mass.) College on Tuesday, January 21 at 7:00 PM in Weston, Mass.
