POSTSEASON
The No. 2 seed Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team advanced to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Semifinals following a 99-89 victory over No. 7 Regis (Mass.) College on Wednesday evening in the quarters. The Falcons' quest for a ninth league championship continues on Saturday, Feb. 26, with a 1 p.m. semifinal matchup against #3 Lasell University at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

POSTSEASON NOTES

  • This year will mark Albertus' 21st all-time appearance in the GNAC Tournament.
  • The Falcons own a 36-12 overall record in the league tournament.
  • Albertus has won eight GNAC Tournament Titles, with head coach Mitch Oliver leading them to seven championships.
  • The Falcons are eying their 10th straight appearance in the GNAC Championship Game. 
  • AMC has won six consecutive home GNAC Tournament games. 
  • Albertus made the GNAC semifinals in each of their last 13 seasons.

2021-22 RECAP

  • The Falcons finished the regular season with a 15-6 overall record and a 13-3 mark in the GNAC to earn the No. 2 seed in the league tournament.
  • Started the season 5-1, which included high-profile wins over Rutgers-Camden, Keene State, and Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
  • Went 4-2 in January, defeating Emmanuel (Mass.), Elms College, Norwich University, and Dean College.
  • Went on a four-game winning streak to close out the season, defeating Johnson & Wales University, Colby-Sawyer College, Regis (Mass.) University, and Johnson & Wales University.
  • Tyreek Perkins (New Haven, Conn.) scored his 1,000th career point in an 87-82 thriller over Emmanuel (Mass.) on Jan. 15.
  • Ranked in Region 1 in both NCAA Division III Regional Rankings this season.
  • Mekhi Warren (New Haven, Conn.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week in Week 8.
