HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Pride controlled the pace early, holding a narrow 21-20 lead midway through the first half. However, the Falcons responded with an 14-0 run, surging ahead 34-21. Kirkland's mid-range jumper kickstarted the scoring stretch, followed by points from Duncanson and Lennox Serrano (Waterbury, Conn.) gave the home team the lead. Serrano capped off the run with a deep shot from behind the arc at 6:29 in the opening half.
  • A series of three-pointers and jump shots extended Albertus Magnus' advantage, pushing their lead to 52-32 at halftime as Kirkland commanded the court with a pair of threes and a dunk through traffic. Daniels hit a buzzer beater jumpshot to close out the first half.
  • Regis came out strong in the second half, scoring the first four baskets to cut the deficit to 14, but a tip-in layup by Avery Hinnant (Naugatuck, Conn.) disruppted the visitors' rally for a 54-38 game at 17:35.
  • Daniels took charge with a 6-2 run for the Falcons, followed by a layup by Kevin Crawford (Bridgeport, Conn.) for the 62-42 edge. Daniels recieved the ball from Serrano who pulled down the defensive board for Crawford's two-poiner.
  • The Pride continued to chip away, coming within 11 points after a free throw from Jamir Harvey. However, consistent free throws from Albertus helped the Falcons rebuild a 20-point lead with under three minutes remaining.
