Men's Golf Announces 2015 Schedule

New Haven, Conn. – Albertus Magnus College first-year men's and women's golf Head Coach Ryan Quinn has announced his team's schedule for the upcoming 2015 season. In total, the Falcons will hit the links seven times, highlighted by hosting three dual matches and a trip to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships.

This fall marks the first varsity season for the men's team after competing at the club level in 2014. Albertus will play its home events at the 6,000-yard, par-72 Alling Memorial Golf Course in New Haven.

The Falcons open the year with a home dual match versus in-state rival Mitchell on Friday, September 11 at 1:00 p.m. Albertus closes out the first month of the season with a trip to the Bay State to compete in the two-day Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms on September 26-27 at Elms Crest Country Club in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. On September 30, the squad hits the road for a dual match against Westfield State at Tekoa Country Club.

In the final month of the season, the Falcons schedule features a dual match an invitational appearance and a trip to the conference championship. Albertus Magnus travels to compete in the Mitchell Invitational on the 14th of October for their final tune up before GNAC Championships.

Albertus will next head to North Dartmouth, Massachusetts to compete in the two-day GNAC Championships hosted by UMass Dartmouth. The team ends the autumn with a home dual match against Johnson & Wales University on October 23.

The Albertus College women's golf team will continue to compete at the club sport level. The athletic department plans for women's golf to become the College's 14th varsity athletic program in the near future. The Falcons are currently recruiting student-athletes with an interest in playing golf at the Division III collegiate level.
