Men's Golf Finishes 19th at Blazer Invitational

Longmeadow, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team carded a team total of 391 on Sunday afternoon during the final round of the Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms to finish in 19th-place. Over 36 holes of action at the par-70 Elmcrest Country Club, the Falcons recorded an aggregate score of 770 in their first tournament action at the varsity-level.

Junior No. 1 Aaron Macchia (Utica, N.Y.) was the low scorer for Albertus Magnus and he followed up an opening round 76 with a 78 to enter the clubhouse tied for 15th. Macchia tied for a tournament-best 22 pars over the course of the event. He was also tied for sixth in the field in par-3 scoring ending the event at two-over par.

Third-year ball striker Tyler Donnan (Meriden, Conn.) finished second for the Falcons, carding a final round 99 to end the tournament in solo possession of 88th-place. One spot and four strokes behind Donnan's pace was sophomore lefty Zach Schatz (East Haven, Conn.). Rounding out the scoring players for the Falcons were junior Tom Moore (East Haven, Conn.) and senior Anthony Pellegrino (Branford, Conn.).  

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Wednesday, September 30, competing in the Westfield State Invitational.
