Golfer Anthony Pellegrino Named to GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team

Winthrop, Mass. – Albertus Magnus College senior men's golfer Anthony Pellegrino (Branford, Conn.) has been named to the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Sportsmanship Team as announced by the league office Friday afternoon.

Pellegrino and the Falcons finished their first varsity season on Friday, October 23, with a dual match against GNAC foe Johnson & Wales. It was a successful inaugural campaign for the team, competing in four tournaments and earning their first-ever dual match victory back in late September at home against Eastern Nazarene. Yesterday's event also marked Pellegrino's final collegiate golf appearance.

During his first season on the course for the Falcons, he finished 10th at the Mitchell Invitational. In the one-day event, he carded four pars throughout the round and tied for fifth in the field in par-5 scoring (two-over par).

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 12 member institutions, 12 associate member institutions, and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 17 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
