Winthrop, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team has been selected ninth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-Championship Poll. The poll, which was released on Thursday afternoon, is voted on by the league's 12 coaches.
Rhode Island College has been selected atop the annual coaches' poll after receiving six first-place votes and 78 points. Johnson & Wales University (RI) finished second in the championship poll with 65 points and one first-place vote, with defending GNAC champion Saint Joseph's College of Maine placing third with 56 points and one first-place vote.
The University of Southern Maine collected the remaining first-place vote and had 54 points, while the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth rounded out the top-five with 52 points.
Suffolk University was sixth with 36 points, followed by Worcester State University with 35 points, Emmanuel College (Mass.) with 17 points and Albertus Magnus College with 12 points.
The 36-hole GNAC Championship will get underway at 9:45 AM on both Saturday and Sunday morning from the first tee.
