Groton, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus men's golf team set a program record, shooting a 301 to win the Mitchell Invite I at the Par 71 Shennecossett Golf Course on Thursday.
The Falcons broke the previous record of 303.
It was the second straight win in as many days for the Falcons, and also the second straight day that Shamar Wilson (Runaway Bay, Jamaica) was the medalist. Wilson shot a 2-under par 69 (35-34), with four birdies on the day.
The Falcons had a 16-stroke edge over Wentworth, who finished second at 317. Western Connecticut State University shot a 326, and host Mitchell, a 368.
It is the third straight year the Falcons won the Mitchell Invite I.
Sam Witt shot a 4-over par 75, with two birdies on the day, while Charles Kristofak shot a 5-over par 76 with a birdie.
Kyle Sikorski, a co-medalist in the Falcons' opening match shot an 81, while Nicholas Piselli shot an 82.
Up next, the Falcons will take on Mitchell again, this time at the Great Neck Duel at Great Neck Country Club in Waterford, Conn. on September 20.
