Men's Golf In Fifth Place After First Round Of GNAC Championships

CONCORD, N.H. – The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team sits in fifth place after the first round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships after shooting a 59-over par 339 on Monday at the par 70 Concord Country Club.

Host institution New England College holds the lead after a 38-over par 318 followed by Saint Joseph's College (Me.) at 46-over par. Emmanuel and Norwich both shot 57-over par, two strokes ahead of Albertus.

Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) shot an 11-over par 81 and sits in eighth place. He had seven pars on the day. Charles Kristofak (West Hartford, Conn.) had two birdies on the day and sits at 11th place after shooting an 83.

Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.) shot an 87 with birdies on the third and 16th holes and Nick Piselli (Milford, Conn.) was a shot behind Sikorski after shooting an 88 with a birdie on 18. Andrew Buckholz (New Haven, Conn.) shot a 92.

Timothy Carlson of NEC currently leads the tournament after a 6-over par 76. He holds a one stroke lead over three players.

Dean College (+64), Elms College (+68) and Mitchell College (+77) round out the team scores.
