HOW IT HAPPENED
The Camels opened the contest's scoring 2:04 into the first frame when Matt Creamer cut across goal from left to right to beat the Falcons' keeper low. The score came with Connecticut College on the power-play, its first of three extra-man opportunities in the opening frame.

Albertus answered to tie the game at 1-all 10:18 into the first. Stein took a pass from fellow rookie Brendan Sjostedt (Tewksbury, Mass.) near center ice when he skated the puck down the left side of the zone. Stein shielded off one defender before beating the goalie top shelf to his stick side. Sophomore Douglas Johnson (Darien, Conn.) earned an assist on the play for his first point of the season.

The entertaining first period continued with the Camels taking a 2-1 lead 4:31 later on a Brett Moccia score. The sophomore forward rebounded and scored off his own shot following a Nick Durajlija (Hamilton, Ontario) sliding block.

The Camels built their lead to 3-1 to start the second period with a goal 3:19 into the frame. Moccia sparked the score by drawing the defense's attention on the left side of the zone before finding Creamer for the wide-open shot.

Connecticut College's advantage grew to 4-1 with another goal just 1:21 after Creamer's strike. Seth Stadheim was credited with the tally to give the home team a three-goal lead.

The Camels took a commanding 6-1 advantage with the first two goals of the third period. Both Greg Pezza and Creamer scored for the home team, giving each player two points on the afternoon.

Doherty netted his first collegiate goal with 4:05 left in the game to cut Albertus' deficit to 6-2. On the power-play, Cameron Weitzman (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) hit Doherty with a pass from behind the net that the rookie one-timed to a goal in the top-left corner.

Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) was busy all afternoon in goal for the Falcons, finishing the game with a season-high 33 saves. Bateman was critical for Albertus going 1-for-10 on the penalty kill, as the sophomore made numerous big stops to keep the Falcons in the contest.
