HOW IT HAPPENED
For the second straight day, the Falcons took the game's first lead in the opening period. With 7:53 gone in the first, Ryan Colwell (Plainedge, N.Y.) netted the goal, staying with a saved shot in front of the crease after a Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario) shot.

Albertus continued its first-period exploits with a second power-play tally at the 16:51 mark. Charles Risk (Medicine Hat, Alberta) took the initial shot from the blue line before Ignazzitto tipped it past the goal for the extra-man tally. Jonathan Stein (Vancouver, British Columbia) earned an assist on the play.

In the second period, the Golden Bears broke onto the scoreboard, cutting the deficit to 2-1 at the 2:45 mark. After a turnover in its offensive zone, WNE's Marko Bohatiuk brought the puck to the front of the goal before sending a wrister to the goalie's stick side.

The Falcons bounced back quickly, tallying another power-play goal to retake a two-goal advantage, 3-1. With an extra man, Stein buried a low shot from the right of the zone with 8:57 gone in the period. Ignazzitto got the assist on the score by sending the puck to Stein from behind the net.

Albertus cemented the game away in the third period with its fourth goal of the day with 12:31 elapsed. Seconds after a power play expired, Colwell found Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta) streaking down the center of the ice, where he beat the keeper over his right shoulder to make it a 4-1 game.

An empty-net tally by Owen Allan (Ancaster, Ontario) sealed a 5-1 victory for the Falcons with 18 seconds remaining. Coleton Cianci (Kirkland, Quebec) assisted Allan's goal, for the first point of his junior season.

On the other end of the ice, Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) picked up his fourth win of the year, extending his record to 4-2. The junior tallied 28 saves on 29 shots. He allowed two or fewer goals in each of the team's four wins.
