HOW IT HAPPENED
After a back-and-forth contest for the first 12 minutes, the Falcons scored the game's opening goal on a tip from Weitzman. Colt Corpse (Fort Wayne, Ind.) started the scoring chance by sending a pass to JJ Berdal (Wausau, Wis.), who fired a one-timer towards the net for the Weitzman tip 12:21 into the contest.

The Camels evened the score at 1-1 6:23 into the second period on a breakaway. Seth Stadheim brought the puck up the ice before taking a shot that deflected off the left pad of Bateman. The saved puck then found its way to Anthony Quatieri, who sent it into the back of the net past the sliding keeper.

Conn. College added to its advantage with a power-play strike 1:09 later. Stadheim took advantage of a rebound on the game's third goal after Lukas Uhler's shot deflected straight into the air for Stadheim to deflect it over the crease to give the home squad a 2-1 lead.

The Camels looked set to take the advantage into the third period until the Falcons capitalized on a lucky bounce to even the game at 2-2 with 48 seconds remaining in the second frame. Harley Michaels (Kirkland, Quebec) sent a rocket up the ice from the opposite zone that bounced off the boards straight back to a waiting Antoniadis, who lifted a shot over the keeper's glove-side pad to tie the score.

Conn. College added to its lead 2:33 into the third period with a goal from Paul Capozzi. Following a turnover in the neutral zone, the Camels made two quick passes before finding Capozzi for a one-one chance with the keeper that he won by burying a shot to the goalie's glove side.

Before the Camels could catch their breath, the Falcons answered by tying the game at 3-all with a goal seven seconds later. After the ensuing faceoff, Weitzman stole the puck from a Conn. College player before sending a give-and-go pass to Ryan Colwell (Plainedge, N.Y.), who sent the puck back to Weitzman for the goal to the keeper's stick-side corner.

A defensive battle followed the explosive start to the third period, as the remainder of the frame stayed scoreless to force an overtime period.

The scoreless drought continued in the extra frame, as the game ended in a 3-3 tie. Neither team found many chances in OT, as Albertus and Conn. College combined for two shots, one by each team, over the five minutes. The draw is the first for the Falcons this season, as their overall record changes to 10-5-1.

Bateman was a rock between the pipes for the Falcons, allowing two of his three goals on rebounds after he made the initial save. The junior tallied 29 stops on the evening, with a game-high 11 in the third period.
