MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team saw its six-game win streak snapped on the road against Wesleyan University this afternoon, as the Cardinals secured an 8-2 victory at the Spurrier-Snyder Rink in Middletown, Conn.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cardinals took the lead in the first 5:30 of the game on a goal by Jeremy Abraham.
Wesleyan added to its advantage at the 14:04 mark of the first when Wiggle Kerbrat put the home team up 2-0.
The Cardinals controlled the action in the second period, scoring four goals in the frame.
Albertus tallied its first goal of the contest at the 13:46 mark of the second to take a 6-1 deficit into the third period.
Freshman forward Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.) opened the Falcons' scoring by backhanding a saved Charles Risk (Medicine Hat, Alberta) shot by a moving goalie.
AMC added another goal in the third period but ultimately had to settle for a road loss to the Cardinals.
Sam Witt (Calgary, Alberta) netted the Falcons' second goal with 16 seconds remaining in the contest, the first career goal for the rookie defenseman.

The two teams finished tied with 30 shots apiece.
Albertus went 1-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-7 on the penalty kill.
AMC and Wesleyan combined for 19 penalties.
The Falcons sat 32 minutes on 12 penalties, while the Cardinals served 22 minutes on seven infractions.
Witt paced AMC with four shots on goal.

NOTEWORTHY

Today's loss snapped the Falcons' six-game win streak.
Albertus falls to 0-3-0 all-time against Wesleyan.
Witt scored his first collegiate goal this afternoon.
