Men's Ice Hockey Bested in Road Tilt at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team saw its six-game win streak snapped on the road against Wesleyan University this afternoon, as the Cardinals secured an 8-2 victory at the Spurrier-Snyder Rink in Middletown, Conn.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Cardinals took the lead in the first 5:30 of the game on a goal by Jeremy Abraham.
  • Wesleyan added to its advantage at the 14:04 mark of the first when Wiggle Kerbrat put the home team up 2-0.
  • The Cardinals controlled the action in the second period, scoring four goals in the frame.
  • Albertus tallied its first goal of the contest at the 13:46 mark of the second to take a 6-1 deficit into the third period.
  • Freshman forward Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.) opened the Falcons' scoring by backhanding a saved Charles Risk (Medicine Hat, Alberta) shot by a moving goalie.
  • AMC added another goal in the third period but ultimately had to settle for a road loss to the Cardinals.
  • Sam Witt (Calgary, Alberta) netted the Falcons' second goal with 16 seconds remaining in the contest, the first career goal for the rookie defenseman.
