Men's Ice Hockey Drops NEHC Contest To Norwich

NORTHFIELD, VT - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team lost a 4-1 New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) game to Norwich University on Saturday evening.

Paden Hicks (Kansas City, Mo.) scored the lone goal for the Falcons in the second period. Matt Lenz (Grapevine, TX) stopped 23 shots in net for Albertus.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • It was a scoreless first period as Lenz stopped all ten shots he faced for the Falcons.
  • The Cadets broke through with the first goal of the game at the 6:23 mark of the second period as Clark Kerner scored right off the faceoff win to make it a 1-0 game.
  • Hicks put Albertus on the board at the 13:35 mark to tie the game on a power placy. On the goal Robert Barrasso (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) passed the puck out to the faceoff circle and Hicks took a wrist shot past Norwich goaltender, Sami Molu, making it a 1-1 game. It was the second goal of the season for Hicks.
  • Norwich scored in the final minute of the second period as Nick Cordeiro found a loose puck in front of the net to make it a 2-1 game.
  • The Cadets added two more goals in the third. The first from Colin Elliott on a pass from Holden Doggett after the puck was stolen in the Norwich zone. Johnny Johnson added one more goal on the power play for Norwich.
