
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team won its first New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) game in program history, defeating Vermont State Castleton, 3-2 on Friday evening at Ralph Walker Ice Rink in the team's home opener.
Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.), Tim Manning (Concord, Ohio) and Peter Keese (Minnetonka, MN) had goals for the Falcons. For Keese, it was his first collegiate goal of his career.
Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned his first win in net, stopping 32 shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams got on the board inside the first three minutes with Pattison scoring first for Albertus at the 2:05 mark. On the goal, Kyle Dann (Windham, N.H.) fired a backhanded pass from behind the net to Pattison who fired home the shot just in front of the net to make it a 1-0 game. Paden Hicks (Kansas City, Mo.) also had an assist on the goal.
- Just 29 seconds later, the Spartans got on the board on a goal from Dylan Roebuck, tying the game at 1-1.
- In the second period, Manning put Albertus up for good on the power play on assists from Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario) and Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta) at the 14:26 mark.
- Keese notched his first goal of the season, taking a pass from Nick Durajlija (Hamilton, Ontario), going around the net and putting home the goal for a 3-1 lead for the Falcons.
- Castleton added one more goal on a power play on its own from Andrew Stefura with just over a minute remaining in the second period.
