HOW IT HAPPENED
- The scoring barrage started in the first period for the Falcons as Kirwin took a pass from Ignazzitto at the blueline, beat out two players for the puck and raced down the right side and put the puck past Southern Maine goaltender, Kyle Penton to put Albertus up, 1-0 7:40 into the game.
- From there, the Falcons would score three goals in a span of 3:37 span. On Tsegelnik's first goal at 15:30, Robert Barrasso (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) made a pass from the defensive zone to Lavoie, who raced down the left side. He then passed the puck across to the other faceoff circle and with a defender draped on his back, Tsegelnik fired a shot into the back of the net for his first career goal.
- Just 41 seconds later, Hicks stole the puck at center ice and raced down towards the net. He spun around and backhanded a centering pass to Pattison who put it home to make it a 3-0 game.
- At the 18:37 mark of the first period, Tsegelnik scored his second goal of the game as he stuffed home a rebound off a shot from Walker to put Albertus up 4-0. Lavoie was also credited with an assist on the play.
- Just 2:39 into the second period, Ignazzitto scored his third goal of the season when he grabbed a loose puck off a shot from Kirwin and put it past Mason Palmer - who came in as goaltender to start the second period - to put Albertus fully in command at 5-0.
- Tsegelnik completed his hat trick at the 13:30 mark with a wrap-around goal after Kyle Cupolo (Waterloo, Ontario) fed him the puck behind the net.
- Anderson tied the all-time goal scoring mark just 30 seconds into the final period as he received a pass from Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) at center ice, and held off a defender as he skated towards the net and beat Palmer to put Albertus up, 7-0.
- Hicks scored his fourth goal of the season less than a minute later ripping a wrist shot from just inside the right faceoff circle to make it 8-0.
- Anderson's record breaking moment came at the 3:41 mark of the third as Hicks fed a pass to Ignazzitto next to the right post. Ignazzitto then fired a pass to a cutting Anderson for his 35th career goal.
- Southern Maine added their lone goal from Matt Sullivan.
- Anderson tacked on his final goal with just 11 seconds left, once again, holding off a defender as he headed towards the net to beat Palmer
- Anderson and Tsegelnik become the fourth and fifth members in program history to get a hat trick and it marked the first time two players had a hat trick in the same game.
