NEW HAVEN, Conn - In an historic moment for the Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey program, Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) scored the game-winning goal in overtime once again as the Falcons defeated No. 1 ranked and back-to-back Division III National Champions Hobart College, 3-2 on Friday evening at Ralph Walker Ice Rink in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) thriller.
The Falcons snapped Hobart's NCAA record 42 game unbeaten streak and 31 game winning streak as the Falcons won their first game over a No. 1 team in program history.
With the score tied, 2-2 in overtime, Albertus goaltender, Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) made a stop on the defensive end. Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta) took the puck and immediately passed to Kindrachuk who raced down the ice and took a shot from the slot into the back of the net as his teammates piled onto the ice in celebration.
It is the third overtime game-winning goal from Kindrachuk this season as the Falcons are now 8-0 at home this season.
Cody Walker (Boise, Idaho) scored his first career goal and Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario) scored a goal in the third period for the Falcons. Sam Witt (Calgary, Alberta) had two assists on the evening.
Hobart is now 17-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams were able to pepper their opposition's goaltender through the first period, but Hale and Hobart's Damon Beaver did not let a shot through during the first 20 minutes. Hale had 14 saves in the period and Beaver had nine.
- In the second period, the Falcons struck first at the 3:10 mark as Walker scored his first career goal when a wrist shot from Witt deflected off the stick of Walker and past Beaver to make it a 1-0 game. Connor Bertamini (Calgary, Alberta) fed the puck to Witt and also had an assist on the goal.
- Hobart took advantage of their lone power-play opportunity of the game as Tanner Daniels tipped in a shot from Austin Mourar near the net to make it a 1-1 game at the 9:49 mark.
- The Falcons regained the lead again in the third period, and it was set up again by Witt whose shot from the blue line was redirected by Ignazzitto and into the net to make it a 2-1 game at the 8:41 mark.
- Albertus looked destined to pull the upset in regulation but with an extra skater on the ice for Hobart a shot from Conor Lally deflected off an Albertus stick, trickled towards the net and Daniels stuffed it in for his second goal of the game, and sending the game to overtime.
