Hale Named NEHC Rookie Of The Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Rookie of the Week for his performance in the team's upset win over No. 1 Hobart on Friday.

In the win, Hale stopped stopped a career-high 45 shots, including a combined 17 in the thid period and overtime in the team's 3-2 win over the Statesmen.

The win for Albertus snapped a 31 game winning streak and an NCAA record 42 game unbeaten streak for Hobart, who is the two-time defending Division III National Champions.

It was the first win over a No. 1 team in program history.

This is the second time this season Hale has been named NEHC Rookie of the Week. He is currently 6-4 in goal this season with a .925 save percentage and a 2.47 goals-against average.

Albertus returns to action on Friday and Saturday as they head to Skidmore for a weekend series. Friday's puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
