NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Senior Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario) of the Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team was named to the 2024-25 All-New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) third team as the conference announced its season-ending awards.
Ignazzitto is the first person in program history to be named to the All-NEHC team as the Falcons completed their first season in the conference.
During the season, Ignazzitto led the team with 20 points, which included six goals and 14 assists.
Ignazzitto tallied four multi-point games on the season. In a 10-1 win over Southern Maine on January 10, Ignazzitto scored a goal along with two assists.
He also had a goal and an assist against Norwich on November 8, and a pair of games with two assists against Salve Regina and UMass-Boston.
In a win over No. 1 and back-to-back Division III Champion, Hobart, Ignazzitto scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime win. The win snapped Hobart's NCAA record 42-game unbeaten streak and 31 game winning streak.
In the first game of the 2024-25 season - a 4-0 win over Johnson and Wales - Ignazzitto became the program's all-time assist leader as he assisted on the team's first goal of the season by William Lavigne (Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, Quebec).
Currently, Ignazzitto ranks second in Albertus history in points with 76, just one point behind teammate, Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta).
This is the second straight season, Ignazzitto earned a season-ending honor as he was named to the Division III All-Independent second team last season.
The Falcons - seeded eighth in the upcoming NEHC tournament - will travel to play No. 1 Hobart on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
