
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario) of the Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team was awarded a $10,000 scholarship from the NCAA as part of the Postgraduate Scholarship program.
In total, 42 student-athletes were awarded the scholarship across all three NCAA divisions. The awards were given to student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, athletic excellence and leadership within their communities.
Ignazzitto, who will be finishing his undergraduate degree as a health science major, played 88 games for the Falcons in his career and is the all-time leader in program history in assists with 55 and second in points with 76. This season, he was named to the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) third team.
Among his many accolades in the classroom, Ignazzitto has been named to the Albertus Magnus Dean's List, and was named an American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholar three times while being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team once.
Established in 1964, the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program promotes and encourages graduate education by recognizing the Association's most accomplished student-athletes. The program evaluates candidates on their athletic and academic achievements, campus involvement, community service and leadership.
