Men's Lacrosse Greg Buck Selected as NEILA All Star

New Haven, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College senior attackman Greg Buck (Berlin, Conn.) has been selected as one of 52 student-athletes who will compete in this year's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West Senior All Star Game on Friday, June 2.

The game will take place at Stagg Field on the campus of Springfield College at 6:30 pm and will feature the top graduating students from Divisions 1, 2, and 3. The annual contest gives the seniors one last opportunity to represent their school as well as be honored for their successful careers.

Buck is the lone player from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) player on the West roster and one of seven to appear in the game. Buck left his mark on the men's lacrosse program over the past four years and leaves as the all-time leader in points with 200 and goals with 144. This season, he led the offensive unit in points (52), shots (135), goals (36) and shots on goals (77). Defensively, Buck registered a career-high nine caused turnovers as well as recorded a career-high 49 ground balls. The senior attack finished his career scoring his 200th career point against Johnson & Wales back on April 25th.

All players and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA. Players were then ranked and selected by a committee awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region.

The NEILA East-West game also gives assistant coaches from some of the top programs each year the opportunity to take the reins as the coaching staffs of each team. This year, the West will be coached by Brad Bishop of Keene State, Liam Murphy of Eastern Connecticut State, and Ben Lanman of Southern New Hampshire. The East will be head manned by Kevin Gould from UMass Lowell, Anthony Nardella of Saint Anselm and Derek Marshall of Wheaton College.
