WINTHROP, Mass. – For the first time in his career, Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse junior Dane Walsh (Bethany, Conn.) was tabbed the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

In the Falcons' lone game last week, Walsh made a career-best 24 saves to keep Albertus close in a GNAC setback to the University of Saint Joseph (CT) on Tuesday, March 30. The Bethany, Conn., native was peppered with shots all evening, seeing 73 total shots (37 on goal) in a 13-4 loss. He also finished the game with a season-best 64.9 save percentage to go along with seven ground balls.

Walsh has been outstanding all season for Albertus, as he leads the GNAC in both saves per game (18.5) and save percentage (62.7). Nationally, Walsh ranks eighth in saves per game and 22nd in save percentage.

The Falcons are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 10, with a home rematch against USJ at Celentano Field. Opening faceoff for the GNAC clash is slated for 1 p.m.
