Men's Lacrosse Drops GNAC Opener to Anna Maria

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-4 loss to Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon in the Falcons' 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener at Celentano Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons and AMCATS traded goals to begin today's contest, with Zaheim Wilkins (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) netting Albertus' first tally at the 12:01 mark. Jayme Toro (East Haven, Conn.) earned an assist on the Wilkins' tally to make it a 1-1 game.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, Anna Maria pulled away at that point, scoring 13 unanswered goals. Albertus halted the run 8:40 into the fourth quarter, but the AMCATS had built a 14-1 advantage by that point.

Albertus' offense did come alive in the fourth quarter, as the home squad won the period by a 3-1 margin. Andrew Ten (Trumbull, Conn.) scored the first goal at the 6:20 mark before Wilkins netted his second of the day 20 seconds later. Charles Stewart (Stratford, Conn.) earned the assist on Wilkins' goal.

Toro recorded the game's final goal with 2:24 left on the clock to settle a 15-4 win for the AMCATS.
