WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman Matthew Hutchings (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team was named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Hutchings accumulated a team-high 18 points on 13 goals and five assists to help the Falcons to a 3-0 start to the 2023 spring season. He opened the week netting two goals and two assists for four points in the Falcons' home opener against Salem State. He followed that up with an impressive six-goal, one-assist outing in a 25-4 road victory at Centenary (N.J.). Hutchings closed out last week with a seven-point performance behind five goals and two assists in the 21-6 Falcons' win over Thomas (ME).
The men's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, March 11, with a road non-conference tilt against Keystone College. Game time is set for 1 PM.
