BOX

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Keystone scored the first three goals of the game as Tyler McManus scored twice, giving the Giants a 3-0 lead at the 13:29 mark of the second.
  • Albertus broke out of its scoreless spell almost 20 minutes into the game as Strecker scored his first goal of the game, which started a streak of four straight goals for the Falcons and gave them their first lead of the game. Shane Kelly (Madison, Conn.) scored just 32 seconds later on a man-up situation after receiving a pass from DaKari Coleman (Norwalk, Conn.) and ripping an underhanded shot past Keystone goaltender, Edwin Himmel-Maines.
  • With the Giants leading 3-2 in the second period, Walsh made a stop on Wilson Ingalls. The stop was the 729th of his career, surpassing the career save mark of Jack Kerner.
  • Kirwin tied the game on another man-up situation at the 8:27 mark of the second receiving a pass from Strecker, faking a pass near the net and stuffing it into the net, making it a 3-3 game. Tremblay gave the Falcons its first lead of the game, slipping between two defenders and getting knocked to the ground while taking a shot to put Albertus up, 4-3.
  • McManus scored his third of the game to Keystone, but Kirwin answered at the 2:55 mark to give Albertus a 5-4 lead. In a frantic final 1:19 of the first half, Cam Wallace scored twice in 46 seconds to put the Giants up 6-5, but with 13 seconds remaining in the half, Strecker scored his second of the game racing down the field to fire one past Himmel-Maines to tie the game 6-6 going into halftime.
  • Wallace put the Giants back in front 7-6 just over a minute into the third quarter and Strecker scored his third on another man-up goal for the Falcons at the 11:10 mark.
  • Keystone went back up by two with goals from Ryan Smith and Wilson Ingalls just 54 seconds apart, but Sean Keenan scored with 2:27 left off a pass from Tremblay. Tremblay then tied the game with 42 seconds left in the third quarter falling down towards the crease and as he let the shot off, making it 9-9 into the fourth.
  • The fourth period got off to a rough start for Albertus as the Giants scored three times in less than three minutes in. Ingalls and Smith scored their second of the game and Abe Wallace scored his first of two. Kirwin got his hat trick at the 7:49 mark, but Abe Wallace then scored his second of the period putting the Giants up, 13-10. Strecker would add the Falcons fourth man-up goal of the game with 13 seconds left.
