NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Director of Athletics Michael Kobylanski announced that Chris Bronander has been named Head Men's Lacrosse Coach/Equipment Manager at Albertus Magnus College. He will begin his role as men's lacrosse coach effective immediately, and will transition into the position of department equipment manager at a later time.
"We are excited to see Chris Bronander lead our men's lacrosse program," Kobylanski said. "He has already established strong relationships across the entire campus, including the athletic department, through his previous experiences as a coach and as a staff member in Professional and Graduate Studies. Equally as important are the relationships that he has built with our current and former men's lacrosse student-athletes. I look forward to seeing the growth of our program under Chris' leadership."
Bronander - an Albertus alum - previously served as an assistant men's lacrosse coach during the 2024 season, primarily as the defensive coordinator, and was also a graduate assistant from 2020-22.
Prior to returning to Albertus, Bronander was the assistant men's lacrosse coach and defensive coordinator at Oberlin College in Ohio for the 2023 season. While there, the school set a program record with seven student-athletes named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams.
Bronander has also served as the assistant men's lacrosse coach at Bridgton Academy in Maine and was the assistant coach at Milton Academy in Massachusetts.
"I am thrilled to be named the next Head Coach for the Men's Lacrosse team," Bronander said. "It will be an honor to develop this program to its highest level and assist these student-athletes in achieving their best, both on and off the field."
As a student-athlete, Bronander played four seasons at Curry College in Massachusetts from 2015-2018 as a defender. He appeared in 66 games scoring three goals with five assists in his career along with 191 ground balls and 113 caused turnovers. He was named to the 2018 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association East-West Senior All-Star game.
Bronander earned his Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Curry with a concentration in Management and a Master's of Science Degree in Management and Organizational Leadership with a minor in Organizational Management from Albertus Magnus.
