2013 GNAC Men's Soccer Bracket
The Albertus Magnus men's soccer team will make its 15th-straight and 16th overall appearance in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament beginning on Sunday, Nov. 3 when the Falcons travel to Standish, Maine to take on the Saint Joseph's College Monks in a 1:00 p.m. quarterfinal match-up.
The Falcons and Monks will face off in GNAC Tournament action for just the second-time in program history after the Falcons defeated Saint Joseph's College 2-0 as the No. 2 seed back in 2010.
Albertus enters the 2013 postseason as the No. 7 seed in the tournament as the Monks are the No. 2 seed with a 12-1-4 overall record. The Falcons have a 5-9-2 overall record on the year and finished GNAC regular-season play with a 2-5-2 record.
The Falcons are 12-13-4 all-time in GNAC Tournament play dating back to the 1996 season. In 1996, the Falcons won their first-ever GNAC Tournament title and last year, in 2012, they won their second GNAC crown and made their first-ever NCAA Tournament Appearance.
The Falcons have not lost a GNAC Tournament quarterfinal game since 2009 when they were the fifth seed playing at Norwich University.
Earlier this season, the Monks edged the Falcons in Maine 2-1 on Sept. 28.
The winner of Sunday's game will face the winner of Emmanuel and Johnson & Wales on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
