Albertus Magnus men's soccer senior Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) has been tagged as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week as announced earlier this week. Fellow senior Dan Dwyer (Hamden, Conn.) earned a spot on the weekly honor roll.
Piroscafo led the Falcons in a 1-0 upset victory over Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Sunday in the GNAC Tournament Quarterfinal round. He made four stops in goal for the Falcons in their 13th all-time tournament win. It was Piroscafo's sixth shutout of the season.
Dwyer scored the Falcons' game-winning goal to advance the Falcons into GNAC semifinal play for the fourth-consecutive season. Dwyer finished on a ball in the box to help the Falcons upset the second-seeded Monks.
Both senior captains will lead the Falcons on Wednesday in the semifinal round of action at Johnson & Wales (R.I.) in Cranston. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
