The fifth-seeded Albertus Magnus men's soccer team fell to fourth-seeded Colby-Sawyer College 4-3 in overtime in the quarterfinals of the 2014 ECAC Division III New England Tournament on Wednesday in New London, N.H.

The loss ends the Falcons' season at 11-7-2.  The Chargers will now play in the semifinals at the highest remaining seed on Saturday.

Colby-Sawyer senior Carlton Wheeler-Omiunu scored 47 seconds into the overtime period to lift the Chargers over Albertus and to improve to 12-6-2. Wheeler-Omiunu finished on a through ball from teammate Chris DiCecca.  Albertus keeper Griffin Volta (Orange, Conn.) came out of the net to challenge the play but the Colby-Sawyer senior was also to connect.

Albertus struck first in the contest as senior Lindsley Barrett (Shelton, Conn.) scored his seventh goal of the year to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute of play.

Colby-Sawyer tied the game at one off of a corner kick midway through the first half. Denali Sexton's header off of the corner by Andrew Clothier was his team-leading 12^th goal of the season.

Prior to the Chargers' goal, Volta made a terrific save as he was able to leap toward the top left corner of the goal to bat the ball away from the net.

At the break, the score was knotted at one as the Falcons held an 8-7 advantage in shots.

Alexis Garcia (West Haven, Conn.) gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead in the 51^st minute as he scored off of his own rebound into the short side of the net to register his 14^th of the season.

The Chargers tied the game at two in the 63^rd as Zach Anderson put the ball past Volta for his third score of the season.  Wheeler-Omiunu's first goal of the game came in the 75^th minute to give the Chargers their first lead of the match.  On a free kick from about 35 yards out, Alex Ortega sent the ball into the box where Wheeler-Omiunu got his head on it and into the back of the net.

The Falcons responded with a game-tying goal in the 84^th minute.  Alex Zapata (Hamden, Conn.) sent a corner kick into the box where Matt Mueller (Cheshire, Conn.) was able to get a foot on the ball in traffic and score.

Senior Nick Austin (Westerly, R.I.) made three saves in the win for Colby-Sawyer, while Volta  had six stops for the Falcons.

Three of the Chargers' four goals came via the header, while Colby-Sawyer held a 19-14 edge in shots and an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
