New Haven, Conn. – Junior striker Salah Oumorou (West Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team was named to the US Soccer Coaches Association All-New England Region Third Team on Tuesday afternoon.
Oumorou became the 13th player in program history to earn the prestigious honor of All-Region and the first player since 2014.
Following a stellar junior campaign, Oumorou was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player of the Year and made the All-Conference First Team. Oumorou earned the second major award and All-Conference First Team nod of his career, as he also accomplished both feats in 2017 as the GNAC Rookie of the Year.
The West Haven, Conn., native led the conference and ranked top-five nationally in points (48) and goals (21). Oumorou finished the season one goal and two points shy of tying the Falcons' single-season program record in both categories. To go along with the 48 points and 21 goals, Oumouro tallied six assists and was 3-for-4 in penalty kicks.
