HOW IT HAPPENED

After a scoreless first half, the Hawks were first on the board in the 47th minute following a goal from Leemar Baptista. From the right side of the penalty area, Baptista fired a right-footed shot past Falcons sophomore goalie Jared Brennan (North Haven, Conn.) and into the left-side goal netting to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.

With the clock winding down, Albertus continued to threaten the Hawks' lead as the Falcons recorded three shot attempts, including a header from Orantay Blake (Hamden, Conn.) at the 62nd minute and a shot on goal by Denis Blandon (Meriden, Conn.) at the 67th minute, but solid goalkeeping from Beckers' Luke Speers kept the visitors off the scoreboard.

The final chance for the Falcons came in the 87th minute on a free-kick from the right-wing. The cross into the box found the head of sophomore Connor Steer (Bridgeport, Conn.), but his attempt sailed over the crossbar as the Hawks held on for the 1-0 win.
