WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second week in a row, David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly recognition, as he was named both the GNAC Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Lucero racked up nine saves and allowed zero goals in 135 minutes over two appearances last week, finishing with a 1-0-0 record. The freshman began his week by posting a scoreless first half against Lasell University on Wednesday, as he saved both shots he faced in the opening 45 minutes. He continued to shine in the Falcons' next game on Saturday, leading AMC to a 2-0 shutout victory over Rivier University at home. Lucero was a perfect 7-for-7 on save attempts against the Raiders on the way to his third shutout of the season.

The Falcons return to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 21, for a crucial road GNAC showdown against in-state rival the University of Saint Joseph (CT) at 4 p.m. in West Hartford, Conn.
