WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second time this season, freshman forward Yahya Kardad (Wallingford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday afternoon.

Kardad was outstanding last week, as he led the Falcons with six points, three goals, and 10 shots to help the team post a 1-0-1 record in two GNAC matches. After tallying three shots in AMC's road tie at Dean College on Wednesday, Kardad had a breakout performance against Anna Maria College on Saturday. The rookie recorded his first career hat trick over a six-minute span to lead Albertus to a dominant 5-1 win on Homecoming.

The Falcons return to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 19, to challenge the Spartans of Castleton University in non-conference action. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Dave Wolk Stadium in Castleton, Vt.
