NASHUA, N.H. - The Albertus Magnus men's soccer team drew even with the Raiders of Rivier University in a 1-1 tie in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest this afternoon.

Kelvin Cortez (East Haven, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a defensive battle for the first 38 minutes, Rivier got on the board first in the 39th minute. A lofted ball was sent into the Falcons' penalty box, and deflected off the post to the foot of Hayden Bilodeau to score a tap-in on the goal line.

The Falcons responded quickly, scoring in the 44th minute of play. Cortez fought to win a ball just outside of the Raiders' penalty box, beat his defender, then ripped a shot that deflected just over the Rivier goalkeeper into the net. 

Albertus continued to attack in the second half, rattling off ten shots compared to Rivier's two. Neither team was able to convert a game-winning goal, ending the game in a 1-1 draw.
