NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play after a 5-1 rout of Regis on Saturday afternoon at Celentano Field.
The 6-0-1 start matches the 2021 and 2012 team for the second best start in conference play through seven games.
Johan Stagnaro (East Hartford, Conn.) had a goal and two assists. Lorenzo Lauria (New Haven, Conn.), Elijah French (Tallahassee, Fla.), Gabriel Paglia (Amity, Conn.) and Dorian Wilczynski (Bristol, Conn.) all had goals for Albertus. Julius McNeill (East Hartford, Conn.) had two assists.
The Falcons are one of just three teams in the GNAC unbeaten in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 14th minute, the Falcons took a 1-0 lead as Stagnaro raced the ball down the field and slid a pass across the box to Wilczynski who put the ball in the back of the net.
- Less than three minutes later, Lauria scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season. On the goal, Lauria took a pass from McNeill on his right foot, tapped the ball around his left leg and finished past Regis goalkeeper Chris Alcon to make it a 2-0 game.
- In the 37th minute, David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) kept Regis off the board, stopping a penalty shot from Nolan McMahon as he dove to his left to make the stop.
- French added his second goal in his last three games late in the first half as Roger Baldwin (New Haven, Conn.) took the ball away from a Regis player and tapped a pass to French who had a wide open shot at net to make it a 3-0 game heading into the half.
- Regis added a goal in the 56th minute from Dane Peterson.
- In the 62nd minute, Paglia scored his second goal of the season on a header off a free kick from Stagnaro, staking Albertus to the 4-1 advantage.
- Stagnaro then got in on the goal-scoring barrage himself in the 70th minute, taking a rebound off a shot from McNeill into a wide open net, making it a 5-1 game.
