NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Paula Matheus (Tunja-Boyaca, Colombia) of the Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team and Johan Stagnaro (East Hartford, Conn.) of the men's soccer team were both named the Takin' Flight Falcons of the Week for their performances during the week of September 23-29.

During the 2-1 week for the women's volleyball team, Matheus had 14 kills, seven aces and eight blocks for the week. In a sweep of Vermont State-Lyndon, Matheus had seven kills, four aces and a block, giving her 12 points on the day. In a 3-0 loss to Simmons on September 28, Matheus had four kills, three aces and two blocks. In the second match of a tri-match against Norwich University – a three-set win – Matheus had three more kills and a team-high five blocks in the win.

Stagnaro had a hand in four of the seven goals during the 1-0-1 week for the Falcons, accumulating five points. Against Emmanuel on September 25 on the road he had a goal in the 3-3 tie. In a 4-0 road win over Elms on September 28, Stagnaro assisted on three goals – all on corner kicks – to pace the Falcons.
