Falcons Drop 7-2 Decision to JWU

Falcons Drop 7-2 Decision to JWU

New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Tennis team has seen much improvement from the beginning of the season.  Despite a 7-2 loss to conference foe Johnson and Wales University, Coach Palmer has seen his team turn it around as of late. Coach Palmer said that his players are finding a way to win on the court. The # 2 doubles team of Tim Gabbard (North Haven, CT) and Gerald O'Connor (Hamden, CT) played a very smart doubles match against a good JWU doubles team. They were putting away their winners instead of giving JWU more chances to play the ball. Both Gerald and Tim were serving very well and they won a lot of points from their service games. At one point in the match, Gerald had three consecutive aces. Coach Palmer was very pleased to see this out of his # 2 doubles team who has struggled as of late. In singles play, Tim Gabbard won at # 3 singles in a very convincing effort. Tim Gabbard is pushing for an all conference bid again this season and only looks to improve on his record the rest of the way.  The Falcons (1-7, 0-3 GNAC) host nationally ranked Harford Community College (Maryland) on Saturday with a 12:00 pm start.
