Boston, MA - Even though the men's tennis team fell 9-0 to
Emerson college at the Boston Athletic Club, Head Coach Brian
Palmer saw his team take a step in the right direction. The Falcons
men's tennis team is showing a lot of potential despite the
9-0 loss. John Fetzner played Allesandro Bellino at # 1
singles and fought for every point. John lost in straight
sets but he battled every step of the way. "John played some
of his best tennis all year against one of the top players in the
GNAC conference in Allesandro," said Palmer. John deserved
every point that he got and even took a couple of games off of
Allesandro. Teo D'Elia who played # 3 singles and teamed up
with John Fetzner at # 1 doubles playing very well in both matches.
His strokes were clean all day with only a few unforced
errors. "Teo is turning into a complete player and that
showed in both his singles and doubles match," stated Palmer.
The # 3 doubles team of Jerry Milewski and James Johnson fought
very hard against Emerson and they were able to win a couple of
games against Emerson helping them gain confidence and experience
on the court. The Falcons (1-2, 0-1 GNAC) host Lesley
College on Sunday at 1:00 pm on Celentano
Courts.
