The Albertus Magnus men's tennis team fell to Johnson & Wales 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
The Falcons (1-4, 0-3 GNAC) battled in the match but fell in the league contest.
Tim Gabbard (North Haven, Conn.) fell in No. 2 singles by a score of 6-3, 6-0 but kept the match close in the first set. In No. 1 doubles, Gabbard and Marcus Artaiz (Hamden, Conn.) were edged 8-6 in another close doubles' outing for the two.
Riker Mitchell (Naugatuck, Conn.) also had a competitive match as he was edged by JWU's Jake McGuire by a score of 6-4, 6-0. Riker and his brother Richard fell in No. 2 doubles 8-1 vs. Ian Huxel and Jacob Wanner.
The Falcons will host Purchase on Tuesday, April 10 in non-conference play. That match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
