Falcons Earn 6-3 Victory over Culinary

The Albertus Magnus men's tennis team defeated Culinary 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in New Haven.  After two wins in doubles' play, the Falcons' won four of the six singles' matches to secure the match victory.

Pete Zacharias and Joe Ineson took home a victory in No. 1 doubles, their first of the season, with an 8-4 win over Culinary's Zack Taylor and Jeremy Sawyer.  Ahmed Abdulateef remained unbeaten in doubles' play as he and teammate Elvis Santana won No. 3 doubles with an 8-4 win over Alex Halmi and Scotty Schuett.

In singles' play, Zacharias earned his first win of the season in the No. 1 position as he downed Taylor 7-5, 6-1 after a close first set.  Dan Constantinidi remained unbeaten in No. 4 singles with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 victory in a close match-up with Culinary's Kyle Felker.

Santana also won his fourth singles' match of the season as he defeated Carlos Berei 6-4, 7-5 in No. 5 singles, while Nick Wiehler earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory in No. 6 singles for his first career singles' victory at Albertus Magnus.

Albertus is now 2-2 on the year and will head to Sage on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference match.
