Falcons Shutout Culinary Inst. 9-0 to Improve to 4-0

The Albertus Magnus men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over the Culinary Institute to improve to an impressive 4-0 on the year.

Ross Suleski (Amesbury, Mass.) and Mathew Mezzei (Wallingford, Conn.) started the afternoon off for the Falcons, winning #2 doubles with an 8-0 shutout of Scotty Schuett and teammate Sarah Parejo.

The Falcons' #3 doubles pairing also posted an 8-0 victory as Dan Constantinidi (North Branford, Conn.) and Ahmed Abdulateef (Hamden, Conn.) defeated Shane Medwinter and Brynne Schlicher. Pete Zacharias (North Haven, Conn.) and Jeff Pelegrino (Meriden, Conn.), who were honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) on Monday, won #1 doubles with an 8-4 victory.

Constantinidi led the Falcons in #5 singles to start singles' play as the sophomore defeated Schlicher 10-0.  Mezzei, Pellegrino and Zacharias each posted 10-0 victories, while Suleski finished the afternoon with a 10-8 victory over Junghee Lee.

Albertus returns to action on Saturday, April 11 at Rutgers-Newark for the Falcons' first GNAC-South match-up of the season.
