NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Eric Chamandy (Montreal, Québec) and Spencer Silver (North Wales, Pa.) swept their matches at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, for the 4-3 lead against Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponent Norwich University before the Cadets rallied in the final two solo matches in a heartbreaking 5-4 loss on Saturday.

The hosts nabbed the opening doubles matchup before Chamandy and Silver secured an 8-3 triumph, followed by an 8-7 (6) tiebreaking win for partners Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) and Tim Manning (Concord, Ohio) at No. 3. Norwich opened singles with a pair of victories at No.1 and No. 2 before the Falcons earned back-to-back wins at No. 3 and No. 4 as Chamandy commanded a 6-3, 6-1 decision and Silver delivered a 6-1, 6-4 triumph. After taking the 4-3 lead, the home team closed out the solo competition with two wins.
