Men's Tennis Opens Campaign With a Win at Sarah Lawrence

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. — The Albertus Magnus College men's tennis team started off hot with a four-straight points, including a doubles sweep, in the 5-2 triumph over Sarah Lawrence College to open the season on Saturday.

At No. 2 Doubles, Eric Chamandy (Montreal, Québec) and Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) collected the first win for the Falcons with a 6-3 win over Jules Voorhoeve and Nikita Knecht. Duo Diego Martinez Jimenez and Justin Arvelo secured the next win, 7-5, at No. 1 Doubles, followed by No. 3 partners Peter Keese (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.) in a 6-4 win.

Albertus continued to dominate on the court with three-consecutive victories as Arvelo, Kindrachuk and Pattison went 2-0 on the day at number 6, 4 and 5 singles, respectively. 

Sarah Lawrence took No. 1 Singles, but Chamandy secured the match point at No. 3 Singles in a 6-2, 7-5 win. Chamandy also posted a perfect record for the Falcons.
