Men's Volleyball Wins Second-Straight with 3-0 Victory over Brooklyn

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team downed Brooklyn College 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-20) on Saturday afternoon in their second match of the 2012 season.

Despite close scores in each set, the Falcons dominated play for the second-straight match as they downed Brooklyn (0-5) in the non-conference contest.

Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico) dished out 26 assists in the match, while he added a team-high seven digs. Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) registered seven kills and nine block assists, while Brendan Charamut (Southington, Conn.) contributed with nine kills and seven block assists. The Falcons finished the match with 18 block assists.

Charamut led the Falcons in the first set with four kills in seven attempts. The Falcons registered 11 kills in 22 attempts in that set.

Gene Tom led Brooklyn with 19 assists, while Alexander Shlivko tallied a team-best nine kills.

Albertus will return to action on Friday, Feb. 17 when the Falcons head to take on Purchase in non-conference action.
