The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team defeated Purchase 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-22) to improve to 3-0 on the year, their best start in program history.

Brendan Charamut (Southington, Conn.) led the way for the Falcons with 17 kills in 28 attempts, while he added two block assists. Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico) dished out 37 assists for the Falcons, while Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) added a team-high 11 digs.

The Falcons started the match off strong, taking a 25-19 win in the first set before cruising to a 10-point win in the second set. In the third set, Purchase was able to bounce back but the Falcons got by with a 25-22 win.

Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) contributed with 13 kills in 19 attempts, while he added three service aces and three digs in the Falcons' win.

Albertus will host a tri-match on Sunday, Feb. 19 beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Falcons will take on Yeshiva and Brooklyn College in non-conference action.
