Led by 14 kills from Brendan Charamut (Southington, Conn.) and 38 assists from Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico), the Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team earned its fifth-straight win with a 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-10) victory over Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Falcons improve to an unbeaten 5-0 on the year, while Brooklyn falls to 2-7 overall. Albertus has not lost a set in its first five matches of the season as the Falcons have won 3-0 in each match. The Falcons' five victories mark a program record of wins in a single season.

In today's second match for the Falcons, Charamut was once again the kill leader for his team as he registered 14 in 32 attempts. He currently has 64 kills on the year. Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) added 10 kills for the second-straight match, while he chipped in with seven digs as well. DeSousa has 40 kills on the year and a team-high 11 service aces.

In today's non-conference match against the Bulldogs, the Falcons recorded 44 kills in 97 attempts, a .247 showing, while Brooklyn registered 23 kills and 21 attacking errors.

The Falcons were down early in the opening set before pulling ahead 11-10 on a DeSousa kill. The Falcons took a 20-14 lead before a Brooklyn timeout but allowed the Bulldogs back into the set as they cut the lead down to one at 24-23 on back-to-back Falcon attack errors. Charamut was able to shut the door on the Bulldogs' comeback as he recorded a kill to end the set with the Falcons ahead 25-23.

The second set saw the Falcons win by a score of 27-25 led by five kills from Charamut and seven digs from Johnson. The Bulldogs opened the set with a 4-0 run before the Falcons bounced back, taking a 7-5 lead before a Brooklyn timeout. Out of the break, the Falcons held on to the advantage until the Bulldogs tied the set at 24. Albertus held a 24-20 lead in the set but Brooklyn battled back to tie the score at 24 before taking a 25-24 lead on a Falcon hitting error.

After a kill by Johnson, a Bulldog hitting error gave the Falcons a 26-25 lead before Charamut once again clinched the set victory with a kill.

The Falcons dominated the third set, winning 25-10 led by Torres' 11 assists and two service aces. Charamut added four kills in seven attempts with no hitting errors. Chase Brinton (Bethany, Conn.) added three kills in the set. Albertus held Brooklyn to a .021 hitting percentage in the match, while recording 12 total blocks versus its opponents' six.
