Men’s Volleyball Blanks Regis 3-0 to Improve to 11-3

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team earned its 11th win of the season with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-15) win over Regis College in non-conference action on Monday night.

The Falcons (11-3) were down 6-2 in the opening set but jumped back taking a 10-8 lead. After trading points, the Falcons took a 16-13 lead before going on a 7-3 run thanks to five-straight points served by sophomore Brendan Charamut (Southington, Conn.) to clinch the set victory.

The Falcons dominated both the second and third sets, taking 25-15 wins in both games.

Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico), Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) and Charamut posted eight kills each, while Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) dished out 17 assists to go along with his team-best three service aces.

Torres dished out eight assists for the Falcons and added a team-high seven digs as the Pride fell to 1-12 on the year with the non-conference loss.

Johnson added seven digs as his eight kills came in 17 attempts. Charamut recorded the most hitting attempts at 21 as he recorded just eight kills. He added five digs. Chris Pfeffer (Torrington, Conn.) added four kills and six digs as well for the Falcons.

The Falcons will travel to Boston, Mass. on Tuesday night to take on the Emerson Lions in GNAC action. The conference match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
