Men's Volleyball Blanks St. Joseph's Brooklyn 3-0

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team blanked St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-14) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) led the Falcons with 14 kills and seven digs.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 5-3 on the year, while the Bears fall to 0-5 overall.

Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico) recorded 31 assists in the match, while Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) added a team-high nine digs.

The Falcons opened tonight's match with a 25-12 victory as Johnson recorded six kills in seven attempts along with four digs.

Albertus added a second-set win with a 25-19 victory over the Bears before the Falcons secured the match victory with a 25-14 win. Sophomore Chase Brinton (Bethany, Conn.) added five of his eight kills in the second set.

Junior Matthew Brancaccio (West Haven, Conn.) contributed with four kills, two digs and two service aces.

Albertus recorded 38 kills in the contest, while St. Joseph's College recorded 12 total kills in the match as the Bears recorded 14 hitting errors for a -.030 hitting percentage.
