Rivier Downs Falcons 3-0

Despite eight kills and five digs from Chase Brinton (Bethany, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team fell to Rivier University 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-15) in the Falcons' first match of their afternoon Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match in Nashua, N.H.

Rivier improved to 5-0 in GNAC play and 12-9 on the year with the win, while the Falcons fall to 7-6 overall and 0-5 in GNAC play.

Rivier was led on the afternoon by sophomore Matt Tutino, who registered a .692 hitting percentage with a match-high nine kills. He also had four blocks and two service aces.

Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico) dished out 11 assists in the match, while sophomore Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) collected five digs for the Falcons. The Falcons struggled at the net in the contest as they recorded just 17 kills in 68 attempts.

Rivier hit a solid .422 in the match, a 36-kill effort in 64 tries. Rivier gave away 16 free points to the Falcons as well as the Raiders recorded 16 service errors in the match.
