#4 Rivier Defeats Falcons 3-1 in Men's Volleyball

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team fell to fourth-ranked Rivier on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.  The Falcons dropped the first two sets 25-15 and 25-22 before winning the third set with a 25-21 score.  Rivier answered with a 25-15 fourth-set victory.

Matt Tutino led the Raiders with an impressive 17 kills, while Tyler Bank dished out 36 assists. Matt Bynon led the Raiders with 15 digs.

Raul Rivera Rojas and Glenn Johnson led the Falcons with 12 kills a piece, while Raymond Torres dished out 27 assists on the afternoon.  Johnson and Douglas DeSousa each chipped in with nine digs each as well.  Johnson added two service aces as well.

Rivier tallied double-digit kills in each set, while Albertus struggled in the three sets that it lost.  In the opening set, Albertus recorded eight kills but with five errors, while the Falcons hit .345 in the third set with 14 kills.

The Falcons finished the afternoon hitting .115, while Rivier hit .331 in the victory.

The Falcons fall to 5-2 on the year and 0-2 in GNAC play, while Rivier improves to 12-3 overall and 5-0 in league action.
